KHUZDAR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has called for `meaningful negotiations` with the leadership of militants in Balochistan.
Talking to journalists here on Wednesday, he said the provincial government led by Dr Abdul Malik Baloch had failed to get in touch with the angry Baloch leaders despite the mandate given to him by the federal government for the purpose.
Senator Haidri, who also holds the portfolio of minister of state, alleged thatthe provincial government was not taking the issue seriously.
In reply to a question about the involvement of foreign hand in violence in Balochistan, he said it was because of incompetence of our agencies and security institutions that foreign elements were able to interfere in the province.
Referring to various problems facing Balochistan, the JUI-F leader said the province had been denied constitutional rights which had served to increase the sense of deprivation among people and disappointed the youths who had taken up arms to get their rights.
