Heroin factory destroyed

GHALANAl: The political administration on Wednesday destroyed a heroin producing factory and arrested an accused on the Pak-Afghan border.
Briefing journalists at Ghalanai, assistant political agent Zeeshan Abdullah said the administration took action after receiving information that a heroin producing factory was functioning in a private house in Shamsha area of Baizai tehsil. He said a Levies team headed by Baizai tehsildar Mujahid Khan raided the house and found the factory.
He said the officials recovered four kilogram opium, 200 kilogram light soda, 17 bags of ammonium chloride of 25kg each, five lime bags, three gas cylinders,17kg poppy seeds, five water drums, 12 water tubs, a generator, a digital weight machine, three manual weight machines, a telephone set, processing plant machinery, stationery and stamps.
Mr Abdullah said the factory, which was shut in 2006 due to military operation, shipped drugs and heroin to others parts of the country.Correspondent
