Police told to produce missing youth in custody within two days

SARGODHA: Additional District and Sessions Judge Faisal Jamil has ordered the police to produce a missing youth, dead or alive, within two days and sought a report on the incident from the district police officer.
Ahmed Sher of Chak 152-NB filed a petition with the court that on March 22, the Shah Nakdar police raided the house of his son Taswar Abbas in Chaudhry Colony in Lari Adda of Jhang City.
He alleged that the police tortured the women and children, ransacked the house and looted gold ornaments and cash. He alleged that his son had been subjected to severe torture in Shah Nakdar police station in Sargodha for the past four days. He feared that the police might stage a fake encounter to kill him.
On the court`s order, a bailiff raided Shah Nakdar police sta-tion but found Taswar missing from custody. The judge directed the police to produce the petitioner`s son within two days and submit a report on the matter.
The police said that Taswar was wanted in two murder cases and had been declared a fugitive. They claimed raids were being conducted to arrest him and that he would be presented in court once taken into custody.
LIFE TERM: An additional district and sessions court judge has sentenced a suspect to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs500,000 in a murder case.
Osama stabbed young Adeel to death with a dagger in 2022 in the Satellite Town area of Sargodha.
The police arrested the suspect and after completing the trial, the judge announced the verdict.
The convict was sent back to jail under heavy police security.
STRAY DOGS: The municipal corporation has launched a campaign to eliminate stray dogs in the city and has set up a controlroom to manage the operation.
The campaign covers 22 union councils, and citizens have been urged to report sightings of stray dogs by sending photos or videos via WhatsApp to the control room.
Officials Mian Khalid and Ehtesham Haider have been deployed to oversee the campaign.

After years of investigations, a police team finally arrested Hanif.
