Number of ministries reduced to 11

RAWALPINDI: There will be 11 Ministries and five Divisions in the President`s Secretariat under the reorganised set-up of the Central Government. The Bureau of National Reconstruction has been abolished, and the Information and Broadcasting Division has been bracketed with the Education Division.
Similarly, Industries and Fuel, Power and Natural Resources together form one Ministry.
According to the recommendations of a committee that was set up some time ago for the purpose, the 11 Ministries will be: Defence, External Affairs, Finance, Commerce, Home and Kashmir Affairs, Industries and Natural Resources, Communications, Health, Labour and Social Welfare, Educa-tion and Information, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, and Agriculture and Works, including Rehabilitation.
The five Divisions that will be part of the President`s Secretariat will be: Cabinet Division, Planning Division, Establishment Division, Economic Affairs Division and the States and Frontier Regions Division.
All establishment work pertaining to all Pakistan Services will be centralised in the Establishment Division.
Hub Dam delayed KARACHI: The execution of the Hub dam project, which is designed to prove a boon to Karachi, may not begin, contrary to expectations, during the next fiscal year.
