2025-04-27
KARACHI: The Prime Minister of Bharat, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on his arrival at Mauripur Airfield yesterday [April 26] noon told Pressmen that he would `probably` discuss the Kashmir issue with Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan. He said his visit was both business and social. `Anything that suggests itself to me or Mr Liaquat Ali Khan we will discuss. We will iron out various matters.

He added that his meetings with the Prime Minister of Pakistan will not be in the nature of `formal conference`.

The two Prime Ministers were closeted for about one hour ... in the evening. Earlier Pandit Nehru placed a wreath of flowers on the Quaid-i-Azam`s grave, and visited the Indian High Commissioner`s Office in Karachi. The Prime Ministers, it was learnt, discussed various problems connected with the implementation of the Delhi Agreement.

The discussions will be resumed ... today.

Karachi gave a warm welcome to the Prime Minister of Bharat. A member of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru`s party commented that the `dignified and impressive welcome` was a `pleasant surprise`. The `fund of goodwill` in Karachi for the Prime Minister of Bharat had `to be seen to be believed`. Staff correspondent
