HYDERABAD: A noted writer and his manager were shot dead while three others wounded in Tando Mohammad Khan over a land dispute on Saturday, police said.

Tando Mohammad Khan SSP Abid Baloch identified the deceased as Dr Anwar Almani and his manager, Ahmed Baran.

He said that a land dispute was going on between Almani and Nizamani clans for some time. Dr Almani along with other persons had gone to his rivals’ area to reportedly serve a court notice on the disputed land.

However, an exchange of fire took place between the two sides in which Dr Almani and his manager, Baran, were killed while Naimatullah Almani and Ali Ahmed Almani were wounded.

Police were said to have detained Umer Farooq Nizamani and Abdul Wahab Nizamani in connection with the double murder.—Staff Correspondent
