`Over 100 auditors to be appointed in KP`

LAKKI MARWAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Accountant General Sharifullah Khan Wazir has announced the government is in the process of appointing over 100 auditors to the district accounts offices across the province to end the shortage of staff members.

He made announcement while talking to reporters after a visit to the district accounts office in Tajazai here on Friday.

The AG also inspected the treasury`s building, which is under construction.

District accounts officer Mohammad Farooq briefed him about the available staff, projects and matters of the of fice.

Representatives of the government employees and pensioners also met the AG and informed him about their problems.

They demanded measures to end the shortage of auditors in the district and provision of smooth Internet facility to the local account office. The AG assured the visitors of necessary steps. He later told reporters that 72 junior auditors would be recruited in the province soon, while around 50 senior auditors would be hired through the Provincial Public Service Commission.

`These recruitments will address shortage of staff in district account of fices and improve their performance,` he said.

Mr Wazir said a proposal to electrify the district and agency accounts offices by solar system had been sent to the relevant quarters for approval, which would ensure the smooth functioning of thoseof fices and speedy disposal of the employees` cases.

The AG said he would ensure provision of funds for the purchase of furniture for the district accounts office.

He said he had directed the relevant ofñcials to facilitate the people, especially government employees and pensioners, approaching them for the early disposaloftheircases.

Mr Wazir said the people could lodge complaints to his office over the telephone or by SMS against the `unruly and corrupt` ofñcials of district accounts of fices for action.

He warned that those delaying the disposal of cases would be dealt with strictly.

OUTLAW HELD: The police arrested a proclaimed offender almost half an hour after he escaped from their custody near Manzar Fageer checkpost in TajoriMalang Adda area here.

A police official said Farmanullah wanted in a murder case was arrested in Tajori town during a search operation jointly carried out by the police and security forces on Thursday night.

He said the outlaw however managed to flee when he was being shifted to the Judicial Complex Tajazai in a van.

`DPO Syed Khalid Hamdani alerted the local police to the incident and got all roads leading to the tribal region closed through stricter security checks.

A police partyinterceptedFarmanullah near Tajazai and rearrested him when he was riding a motorcycle,` he said.

The official said the district police chief suspended ASI Ihsanullah and constable Rehmdil from service and ordered the registration of a case against them over negligence.-Correspondent
