SAHIWAL: Former PPP MPA Chaudhry Hafeez Akhter joined the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in a meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Bani Gala on Saturday.

Sahiwal PTI leader Shakeel Khan Niazi, MPA Waheed Asghar Dogar and Senator Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmed were present. Mr Akhter is a strong aspirant of the PTI ticket for PP-199. He won the MPA seat in the 2008 election and remained runner-up in the 2002 elections.

He, however, did not contest the 2018 election. In the new delimitation, his previous PP-223 seat is now PP-199, which is occupied by PML-N`s Naveed Khan Lodhi. Correspondent
