ISLAMABAD: The federal government is likely to appoint Yasir Pirzada, a grade-21 officer from the Inland Revenue Service, as new director general of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).

Sources in federal government said that the government has given a go-ahead for appointing Pirzada as new DG.

Pirzada is being appointed as DG of the national sports board in replace of Shoaib Khoso, who was sacked by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in April this year following his alleged fake degree scam.

Pirzada holds a 25-year experience of working at key positions in public sector organisations.
