LAHORE: The Punjab government has reshuffled senior police officers on promotion to the BPS-20 and BPS-21 and retained some of them at their current place of postings.

According to the reports, 14 officers were promoted to the next grades on approval of the prime minister and the Establishment Division Islamabad had issued notifications a day back.

Following the promotions, the Punjab government called a meeting, reviewed the assignments of the officers in consultation with Inspector General of Police chief Dr Usman Anwar.

Other than 14 officers, the meeting also approved reshuffling of four othersincluding BPS-21 police officers, Mirza Faran Baig and Imran Arshad, and BPS20 officers, Waqas Nazir, Hammad Abid and Azhar Akram.

As per the decisions of the meeting, Punjab Additional IG Operations Shahzada Sultan has been transferred and posted as additional IG investigation on promotion to BPS-21.

Similarly, Research Development & International Cooperation DIG Kharram Shakoor was transferred and posted as additional IG riot management police Punjab, additional IG training Punjab was allowed to continue serving at his present place of posting, additional IG Traffic Police Punjab Mirza Faran Baig was transferred and posted as additional IG Operations, additional IG Counter Terrorism Department Waseem AhmadKhan was allowed to retain his current posting, Punjab Constabulary Commandant Imran Arshad was transferred and posted as additional IG Welfare & Finance, DIG security branch Punjab Syed Khurram Ali Shah was transferred and posted as additional IG Punjab constabulary.

According to the notifications, awaiting posting Humaun Bashir Tarrar was transferred and posted as additional IG Punjab Highway Patrol, DIG riot management Asad Sarfraz Khan was allowed to retain his current posting, DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir was transferred and posted as additional IG Traffic Police Punjab, Faisalabad City Police Officer Sahibzada Bilal Omer was allowed to hold his current posting, DIG Legal Mohammad Ali Zia was trans-ferred and posted as DIG Operations Punjab, DIG training of Crime Control Department Punjab Umar Salamat was directed to retain his current posting while special branch SSP Security Mustafa Hameed was transferred and posted as DIG internal accountability branch Punjab vice Hammad Abid.

Mr Abid was transferred and directed to report to the Services & General Administration Department Punjab.

Awaiting posting Fawadud Din was transferred and posted as DIG research development & international cooperation, DIG investigation monitoring Azhar Akram was transferred and posted as DIG security and admin, special branch Punjab and awaiting posting Muhammad Ali Shakoor was transferred and posted as DIG investigation monitoring Punjab.
