PTl to hold weekly marches from Aug 7

By Our Staff Reporter 2016-07-27
LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) says it will hold weekly marches against Nawaz government`s refusal to surrender itself to the accountability process.

PTl Central Information Secretary Naeemul Haq told reporters on Tuesday the PTl would hold the anti-government march every week to begin with Rawalpindi to Peshawar March on August 7.

He denied the impression that the announcement was made without consulting other opposition parties and said the party would not do a solo flight.

He, however, regretted that the PPP also did not consult them while instituting cases against the Sharifs and that all parties were independent in taking their decisions (on various issues).

Saying that the PTl was playing its role in the Election Reforms Committee, he demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan use the latest technology for making next elections fair and transparent.

To a query about PTl objections to the new ECP member from Punjab, Mr Haq said he would contact Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who is in the US to attend Hillary Clinton`s nomination convention, to discuss Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah`s claim that the PTl had been consulted on the nomination.

PRESIDENTS: PTl Chairman Imran Khan has issued a notification about appointment of four regional presidents in Punjab.

They are Amer Kiyani (north), Abdul Aleem Khan (centre), Chaudhry Ashfaq (west) and Ishaq Khakwani (south).
