LAKKI MARWAT: A terrorist was killed in encounter with personnel of Counter Terrorism Department in Muslim Bagh area of Naurang here on Tuesday.
Three officials of CTD were injured in the encounter. `The CTD received information that terrorists were planning to target law enforcers in the town, an official said.
He added that a team was tasked to foil the bid and arrest the militants.
The official said that a gun battle took place between CTD personnel and terrorists near Muslim Bagh area.
`A terrorist identified as Shafiullah was killed while three CTD personnel includingSI Aslam Khan, head constable Mohammad Sadiq and constable Waheedullah received bullet injuries in the encounter,` he added.
The official said that the killed terrorist was wanted by law enforcement agencies in cases of targeted killing and terrorism.
He said that an accomplice of the killed terrorist escaped while the wounded officials were taken to a hospital in Naurang. Police also seized an AK-47 assault rifle, a pistol and bullets from the killed target killer.
CLASH: Two persons were killed and another sustained bullet injuries in an armed clash between rival groups in Sharbikhel village on Tuesday.
Police said that the rival groups exchanged hre over cutting of date trees that resulted in killing of Mir Baz from one side and Iftikhar Hussain from the other group.
`Mir Baz died instantly whileIftikhar Hussain succumbed to his injuries when he was being shifted to hospital,` they added.
Police said that Ameenullah, a son of Mir Baz, was also wounded in the clash. He was taken to rural health centre Titterkhel.
Meanwhile, police found two mutilated bodies near Kharaki Ziarat on Lakki-Darra Tang road and shifted them to a local hospital.
An official said that local people informed police that two bodies were buried in the area.
He said that police with the help of local people exhumed the bodies that were mutilated beyond recognition.
`The deceased were shot and killed by unidentified people and their bodies were buried at a deserted place near Kharaki Ziart,` said the official. He added that police shifted the bodies to a hospital for autopsy and informed tehsil municipal administration to make arrangements for their burial.
