OKARA: A Dipalpur additional sessions judge (ASJ) sentenced a woman drug peddler to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) along with a fine Rs400,000.

The Mandi Ahmad Abad police in June 2024 recovered around 8kg chars from a woman drug dealer named Mehran Bibi alias Shamim Bibi and case was registered against her. After the trial proceedings, Dipalpur ASJ Salman Tariq convicted her and she was shifted to the Okara district jail.

ACCIDENTS: As many as eight people were injured in two separate accidents on Saturday.

In one incident, a van collided with a rickshaw near Adda Tabrook on GT Road leaving five rickshaw passengers, including three women, injured.

In another incident in village 23/2L, a cattle shed collapsed injuring Muhammad Akram, his wife Nasim Bibi and their daughter Asifa (18). They were shifted to a nearby hospital by Rescue 1122. Correspondent
