PAKISTAN emerged on the map of the world on Aug 14, 1947. Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah defined unity, f aith and discipline as the three pillars of nation-building. Ironically, his motto is only confined to our textbooks and no one pays heed to it in practical terms. The situation in the country is getting worse by the day.
There is no rule of law. Every political party wants to stay in power by hook or by crook.
The federal government, today, is a coalition of multiple parties, and everyone wants a share in power even as the country struggles to achieve stability. Instead of working for the welfare of the masses, political parties mock and pull each other down. Due to their unending differences, Pakistan faces a plethora of challenges, such as inflation, declining rupee and foreignexchange reserves, andlack of foreign investment.
If the politicians really want to work for the country, they should focus on their respective provinces first. It is the need of the hour to stand united under the national flag.
