People to reject protest politics: CM

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif alleges that the elements involved in sitins are irritated at the projects aimed at welfare of the poor masses and are showing their enmity to the people through protest politics.

He was quoted as talking to Punjab Assembly Deputy Spealcer Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani and MPAs Naeem Akhtar Bhabha and ManshaullahButtonMonday.

He said that rejected elements should not try to create hurdles in the process of progress and development.

He said the CPEC was aimed at elimination of poverty, unemployment and extremism from the region, adding that those creating obstacles in CPEC were not well-wishers of the nation.

Mr Shahbaz said that Pakistan could not afford politics of protest and anarchy and these rejected politicians were damaging the country through their negative politics.

He hoped that enlightened people would not allow anyone to undermine the interests of the country and would reject the protest politics.
