Three-day anti-polio drive launched

LAHORE: The City District Government of Lahore`s health wing on Monday launched a threeday anti-polio drive in its all 274 union councils.
Over 1.6 million children of five years age or below will be administered polio drops during the campaign which will continue till Wednesday (tomorrow).
However, the missing cases will be covered on Thursday (Sept29),areserve day.
`Since 4,300 field teams have beenengagedinreaching all kids in three days, the senior officials must keep watching them in the field, DCO retired Capt Muhammad Usman said while speaking to the media during his visit to various localitiesin thisregard.
He also appealed to the parents to get their children administered polio drops bythe teams.
Meanwhile, the DCO directed the officials to intensify in/outdoor dengue surveillance in the city.
SEALED: Punjab Food Authority teams on Monday sealed various food premises, eateries, etc for flouting hygiene standards and rules/ regulations.
According to a spokesperson, the teams sealed Perfect Water Shop, Danish Sweets and Bakers, Bismillah Murgh Chanay, Good Luck Pakwan Centre, Hajveri Pakwan Centre, Al Sheikh Nan Shop, Lajpal Pan Shop and Takeaway Sweets.
The teams also imposed ñnes on Baba Jee Qulñ, Krisper Pizza and Fast Food and Tasty Food Bakers.
While the CDGL`s price control magistrates got arrested94 shopkeepersand imposed a fine of Rs39,500 on others for overcharging, hoarding and selling substandard commodities.
