PESHAWAR, Oct 26: Eighty-one officials of Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan police ranges were on Saturday suspended and further inquiry ordered against them, in the ongoing drive launched by the police department against corrupt and incompetent police officers.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, on the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Nasir Khan Durrani, the phasewise dismissal of corrupt police officers is in full swing.
Mardan police range suspended 24 officers of different ranks involved in corruption.
They included five inspectors, six sub-inspectors, nine assistant sub-inspectors and four lower rankers. The D.I. Khan police range suspended 57 officers, including four inspectors, five sub-inspectors, six assistant sub-inspectors and 42 low rankers. -Bureau Report
