SHEIKHUPURA: The DHQ Hospital staff caught one of the swindlers who deprived a woman patient and her attendant of gold earrings and bangles after serving them intoxicated fruits and sweets here on Sunday.

Reports said that a woman and her accomplice in the guise of NGO activists entered the female ward and distributed some fruits and sweets to patient Khadija Bibi and her attendant. Both of them fell unconscious immediately after taking sweets.

The swindlers removed gold earrings and bangles from both women and tried to flee.

Another woman watching the suspicious activity raised an alarm which caught the attention of the hospital staff who chased the swindlers and caught the fleeing woman while her accomplice managed to escape. The accused woman was handed over to the City A-Division police.

Looted Four passengers of a rickshaw were looted by three robbers near Abhianwala in Muridke on Sunday.

Reports said that Bashir Ahmad and his family members were on their way when armed bikers intercepted the rickshaw and relieved them of cash, ornaments and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Police are looking into the matter. Correspondent
