MULTAN: The National Accountability Bureau is questioning officials of Vehari police and accounts office for their alleged involvement in a Rs990 million scam.

NAB DG retired Brig Farooq Nasir Awan told newsmen here on Wednesday that five former DPOs of Vehari, including Shariq Kamal Siddiqi, Ali Nasir Rizvi, Shakir Hussain Dawar, Akhtar Umer Hayat Lalyka and Aashir Hamid, were also among those being questioned.

He said that the case was forwarded to the NAB by the Punjab IGP.He said that NAB’s Multan office had received 3,516 complaints since its establishment in March 2015 and recovered Rs448.54 million from accused.
