ISLAMABAD: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the capital police has busted a gang ofrobbers and recovered a vehicle, valuables and weapons, police said.

Besides arresting six robbers, the SIU team recovered 30-bore pistols along with ammunition, Rs160,000 in cash, electrical appliances from their procession, they said, adding that during preliminary investigation they confessed to burgling the houses of Ahmed Ayaz peerzada and Dr Mohammad Shafi in E-11/4 and in G-11/3.

Moreover, the SIU also arrested a woman on charges of looting people. During preliminary investigation she confessed that she used to take lift and during travel she would drug drivers and make off with the loot, they said.

She said also operated in Rawalpindi and Peshawar, they added.
