PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans to hold a three-day `SheenPeshawar`event from Nov 18 to 20 for highlighting the culture and history of the city.

A statement issued here said that provincial minister for local government Faisal Amin Gandapur chaired a meeting on `Sheen Peshawar` project the other day wherein various aspects of the threeday event were discussed.

These include projection of the cultural and religious historical sites, traditional sports and dances, arranging downtown tours, arts festivals, music and food streets, light and sound shows, etc to make the event a success.

The meeting was attended by secretary local government Syed Zaheerul Islam and other senior officials.

It was decided that all the relevant departments, directorates and stakeholders will submit their plans along with financial proposals by Oct 31 while a special meeting of the stal(eholders will be held and each department and directorate will present its plan for perusal.

Mr Gandapur asked the participants to seek the sponsors from private sector to reduce financial burden on the government.

He said that the flood-hit people in the province were being compensated with cash amounts through online transfers to enable them build their shelters and arrange food for their families. -Bureau Report
