KARAK, Nov 26: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers have criticised the party`s lawmakers from the district for failing to raise the issue of establishment of oil refinery in Karak at the provincial level.
Speaking at a meeting held at the residence of former MNA Shamsur Rehman Khattak at Makori here on Tuesday, they alleged that the workers who had been rendering sacrifices for the cause of the party had been ignored in decision making process.
The meeting was held in connection with the preparations for the local bodies` elections.
PTI local leaders Kamran Khattak, Engineer Rasheed, Altaf Aghan, Malik Rabi Rehman and others were in attendance. They claimed that the lawmakers from the district had failed to convince the PTI-led provincial government to establish oil refinery in Karak.
They added that all vital issues of public importance remained unresolved so far due to the inefficiency of the elected representatives.
They claimed that MNA Nasir Khan and MPA Gul Sahib Khan and Dina Naz had no time for the ideological workers.
The PTI workers also assailed MPA Gul Sahib Khan for not attending the meeting.
Former MNA Shamsur Rehman asked the party`s district general secretary to send a show cause notice to the district president GulSahib for his absence from the meeting. He demanded that workers` problems should be resolved on priority basis.
Speaking on the occasion, advisor to chief minister Malik Qasim Khan Khattak claimed that the approval of an irrigation canal from Indus River to the district was made possible because of him. He informed the meeting that a provincial committee had proposed establishment of oil refinery at Krappa chowk in the district.
MPA on women reserved seats Dina Naz said she was a die hard worker of the party and that she would resolve the problems facing the workers on priority basis.
