Woman dies of burns

ISLAMABAD: A woman, who was critically injured in Rawalpindi fire on Tuesday, died at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Wednesday.

A minor was killed and five other members of the family were injured in the incident and brought to Pims.

Later, the body of the minor, Shaheryar Zahid, was handed over to the family while the injured were being provided medical treatment at the hospital.

Sidra Zahid, mother of the deceased child, who had received 100 per cent burn injuries, died on Wednesday.

`Other injured family members are out of danger and medical treatment is being provided to them,` said Dr Waseem Khawaja, media coordinator of Pims, while talking to Dawn.

He said two-and-halfyear-old Ayesha Zahid had 20 per cent burn injuries, 22-year-old Sidra Shahid had 20 per cent,32-year-old Shahid had 22 per cent and seven-month-old Ibrahim Shahid five per cent burn injuries.
