CDA holds balloting for 52 stalls in Peshawar Mor bazaar

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday held balloting for 52 stalls in the Peshawar Mor weekly bazaar.

This led to settlement of lingering issue between the stallholders and the CDA.Around 204 stalls at the weekly bazaar were demolished due to the construction work on Peshawar Mor interchange of metro bus project.

Besides, one of the loops of the project that connects 9th Avenue with Kashmir Highway would also pass through the weekly bazaar.

Initially, the CDA had decidedto shift the affected stalls outside the existing bazaar beyond the meat and chicken section.

However, after negotiations with the stall holders almost all those selling vegetables and fruits were readjusted within the same premises after establishing new stalls towards the Kashmir Highway.The remaining 52 stalls including 30 of shoes and 22 miscellanies items have been allotted stalls through balloting.

Though the weekly bazaars fall under the ambit of Directorate of Municipal Administration Capital Development Authority, but the balloting process was supervised by the DG administration.
