LANDI KOTAL: Two personnel of Khasadar force were gunned down in Jamrud area of Khyber tribal region on Thursday.

Officials said that the bullet-riddled body of Hesaab Khan was found in a ravine near Bhagiyarhi checkpost. The other security man, Aamir alias Sheeno, was shot dead near Teddi bazaar.

Hesaab Khan was kidnapped a few days ago from a checkpost in the Kafar Tangi area. The post was set up to checl< smuggling of foreign goods and animals.

His family, however, did not reportthe matter to the local administration. It was on Thursday morning that the family was informed about the discovery of his body in Medanak hilly area which is at a short distance from Bhagiyarhi checkpost on the main road.

Later in the day, Khasadar Aamir was fired upon near Teddi bazaar where he was performing his duty along with two colleagues. He died on the spot.

According to an eyewitness, when the lone attacker opened hre the other Khasadars ran away instead of chasing the attacker or returning fire. `The attacker walked away unchallenged,` he told Dawn.Soon after the attack Khyber Agency Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah visited Jamrud and terminated the services of the two Khasadars for negligence of duty.

He transferred Jamrud line officer Tehseenullah.

Tehseenullah has been asked to report to Khyber House in Peshawar andSubedarIbrahimKhanhas been elevated to the rank of line officer.

The cause for the murders could not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, security forces found suicide jackets, rocket launchers, hand-grenades and ammunition powder in a house when they raided it during a search operation in Sur Kamar area of Jamrud.
