Seminar on Guru Nanak`s Bani today

LAHORE: A number of Sikh pilgrims, who are on a 10-day trip to Pakistan to mark Baba Guru Nanak`s birth anniversary, will participate in a seminar, titled `Guru Nanak Bani -Tauheed Te Parem Di Nishani` under the aegis of the Diyal Singh Research and Cultural Forum here at Governor`s House on Friday (today).

The pilgrims returned to Lahore on Thursday after participating in various rituals and celebrations at the temple of Baba Guru Nanak at Nankana, GurdwaraPanja Sahib in Hasan Abdal and other worship places.

`The seminar will not only be attended by the pilgrims but also the people from various walks of life.

It will be presided over by Governor Rafique Rajwana while ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq will be the chief guest,` the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) spokesman told Dawn on Thursday.

He said the pilgrims would start returning to India and other countries f rom Nov 29.

AUCTIONED: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) auctioned eight commercial plots forRs67.9 million situated in its various housing schemes-Johar Town, Jubilee Town, Mustafa Town and Gujjarpura.

According to an LDA spokesman, the maximum bid of Rs2.2 million per marla was offered for 40 square metre plot situated in P-Block, Johar Town. Its base price per marla was evaluated as Rs2 million.

SCHOOL CRICKET: The district administration is reviving Mohallah cricket by holding contests between schools participating in the Commissioner Cup from the districts of Lahore, Nankana, Sheikhupura and Kasur.
