Five killed in Timergara road accident

TIMERGARA: Five people were burnt alive and three others injured when a car caught fire after it collided with a passenger coach at Katkala area near Talash in the limits of Ouch police station here on Thursday.

Those killed on the spot were identified as Syed Imran, Sajid, Azizur Rehman, Tariq and Nadeem, all belonging to Nishtarabad, Peshawar. They were going in their car to attend a wedding ceremony at Doog Dara, Upper Dir.

Residents and police said that the car was negotiating a sharp turn when it overturned, hit the coach coming from the opposite direction and caught fire.

Police and army personnel reached the spot and put out the fire, but by then all the five inmates of car had died. The bodies were taken to THQ hospital Chakdara and then sent to Peshawar. Three passengers of the coach were also injured in the accident.

In another incident, unknown assailants shot dead a businessman, Jamiullah, a resident of Qaziabad, Timergara, at Osakai area late on Wednesday night.

The Timergara traders observed a complete shutter down strike on Thursday and demanded immediate arrest of the killers. The traders said that Jamiullah was coming from Peshawar to Timergara in his car. Correspondent
