ON Oct 16, a young man was shot dead by armed men upon resisting robbery in Karachi.
The Zaman Town police said two men riding a motorcycle appeared at a shop in Korangi`s Gulshan-i-Sikanderabad area near Christian Town; one of them got off and snatched cash from shopkeeper Saeed Ahmed,30.
As the robber was leaving the shop, the shopkeeper tried to overpower him. The robbers fired a single shot that hit him in the chest, the police said, adding that despite being wounded the shopkeeper didn`t let go of that robber.
The one on the motorcycle fired again; the bullet hit the shopkeeper in the head and he died on the spot. The government must realise the gravity of the situation and the extent of street crimes in Karachi.
