LAHORE:Amankilled his wife and minor son before committing suicide in the Lytton Road police area.
Suspect Usman first shot at his wife, Ayesha, and then four-year-old son Irtaza at the doorsteps of his LOS residence. He later committed suicide by shooting himself in his temple, a police official said, quoting initial inquiries.
The of ficial said Ayesha had been living with her parents in Islamabad for the last couple of months along with her son, following differences with Usman over family issues.
She had reportedly not allowed him to meet his son since then, the police official said and added that Ayesha arrived in Lahore along with her son on Monday to attend marriage of her relative.
On finding about her presence in Lahore, Usman expressed his wish to see his son and requested her to pay a visit to his residence at LOS.
Ayesha accepted his request and as she was getting out the car outside his home in the street, Usman opened fire on her and his son in the street andinjured them critically. He killed himself with the same gun.
Ayesha and her son succumbed to their injuries in a hospital.
The bodies were sent to the city morgue for autopsy.
THREE BURNT: Three workers suffered burns after a fire broke out in a floor mills in Shahdara on Monday.
The incident occurred in the f actory located near Baradari Road where over two dozen labourers were at work.
The Rescue 1122 teams extinguished the fire after efforts of about three hours.
An of ficial of the Rescue 1122 said the fire first erupted in the storeroom of the factory and later spread to other portions.
He said most of the employees immediately left the premises after seeing dense smoke coming out of the main building of the mills. However, three of them got trapped and suffered burns. They were identified as Ahsan, Adnan and Farzand.
Theinjuredwereshifted to a hospital where the condition of all of them was stated to be out of danger.
The police have taken control of the factory premises for investigation.
