ISLAMABAD: The special investigating unit of the Islamabad police has arrested two thieves and recovered valuables worth over Rs5 million, police said here on Monday.
Taking notice of complaints about rising theft in the city, SP Investigation, retired Capt Mohammad Ilyas was asked to investigate the cases.
The SP set up a team which collected details, evidence and records of the criminals andsucceededinapprehending two Afghan nationals.
The team succeeded in recovering a briefcase containing Omani Riyal worth Rs2.3 million and jewellery worth Rs1.9million, ID card and a car.
They had stolen the briefcase from a car, parked outside a house in F-6/1 on Dec 14. Staff Reporter
