2016-12-27
RAWA LPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Monday severed 236 illegal water connections in different areas, besides razing two illegal shops and issuing notices to 25 buildings during its campaign against nonconforming properties.

The RCB spokesman said illegal water connections were cut in Naseerabad, Allahabad, Gowalmandi, Allama Iqbal Colony, Saddar, Tench Bhatta and Peshawar Road.

He said last week, the water branch of the civic body recovered Rs4.8 million from the water defaulters and the fresh campaign will also generate more revenue as the people would now legalise the water connections.

He said the building control branch razed two shops in Dhoke Gujran as the owner constructed the shops without approval of building plans.

He said the civic body also issued notices to 25 building owners to present their building plans before the civic body for approval with fee and fine within two weeks. A Reporter
