KARACHI: Additional IGP Karachi Javed Alam Odho has formed a special investigation team led by a DIG, comprising five SSPs, for probe into the `criminal activities` of the main accused Armaghan and his alleged syndicate in the Mustafa Amir kidnapping and murder case, it emerged on Thursday.

According to an official order, the team will work under supervision of CIA Karachi DIG Muqaddas Haider while CTD SSP Syed Irfan Ali Bahadur, AVCC SSP Anil Haider, SSP Investigation Korangi Qais Khan, SSP Investigation Keamari Azhar Javed andSSP Investigation East Ms Aleena Rajpar will be its members.

The team would ensure investigation into the case from all aspects to identify the criminal activities of the accused and his syndicate.

`All accused involved in or assisting the commission of kidnapping/murder as well as operators of the syndicate supplying narcotics shall be identified and arrested,` the official order stated.

`The investigation must be completed with all legal formalities, ensuring there are no loopholes,` it added.

The DIG has been directed to submit a progress report by March 3. When contacted, DIG Haider confirmed to Dawn that a special probe team had been constituted.
