THE lack of streetlights on certain sections of the NIPA service lane has made it a hot spot for mugging.
Pedestrians and motorcyclists are easy targets for the robbers, who often wield knives and lie in wait in the darkness for their victims after 8:30pm when the lane starts to become deserted.
Installing more streetlights so that the lane is better lit may reduce this issue to a large extent.
