Protesters demand arrest of killers

SIALKOT: Several traders with the heirs of two of their colleagues, of Gohadpur, demonstrated on Monday outside deputy commissioner and district police officer offices, demanding early arrest of the killers.

Brothers Waseem Khalid and Muqadas Khalid were shot dead by gunmen in their electronics shop in Gohadpur-Sialkot city on Feb 23.

Protesters, including women and children, flashed banners and placards amid anti-police slogans. They said theMuradpur police had failed to arrest the killers.

The grieving family announced continuing their protest till their demands were met.

They demanded that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Sukhera provide justice to them.

Police officers assured the protesters about the early arrest of the accused.

Also, the traders in Gohadpur threatened to go on shutter down if the police did not arrest the accused in two days.On Feb 23, four robbers had killed the brothers on resistance and fled with Rs250,000.
