VE HARI: Two robbers were killed in encounters with police in different areas of the district here on Monday.

In the first incident, three suspects snatched a bike and cash from a trader in Fateh Shah police precincts.

The trader informed the 15 police and a team chased the robbers near Chak 321/EB. On seeing the police, the suspects opened fire. During a 30-minute shootout, one of the suspects identified as Faisal of Machiwal was found dead.

Police recovered the snatched bike and a pistol from the nearby field. Others managed their escape.

Police have shifted the body to Burewala THQ hospital for autopsy. In the second incident, four robbers looted some passers-by near PI -link canal in Saddar police area. On a tip-off, a team reached the spot.

On seeing the police, the suspects opened fire.

During a shootout, one of the robbers identified as Tariq of Arifwala was killed on the police. The other three managed their escape. The body was shifted to Burewala THQ hospital for autopsy.

Police spokesman Adnan claimed that both the robbers were involved in about a dozen dacoity and rape cases. Correspondent
