Shocked

2016-04-28
SINCE I read the report about the girl who was seriously injured by a speeding passenger coach in Qila Saifullah district and the surgeon who refused to treat herbecause he was of f duty, I am shocked.

Perhaps gone are the days when we would hear that one chose medical profession to serve humanity. Now that cause has been replaced by monetary benefits.

Last week the Supreme Court took up the case about cutting 1,200 trees to build a pedestrian bridge near Karsaz in one of Karachi`s cantonments.

The respondents in the case are federal, Sindh and Karachi district governments, the Karachi commissioner, the cantonment board executive officer, the senior director, transport and communications, KMC, the KMC director of advertisement, the naval commander, Karachi, the naval commander, Johar, and the advertising agency.

The presiding judge`s comments just highlight our helplessness towards this ugly carelessness. When the government attorney showed reluctance in naming the guiltY party, the judge was spot on, terming this as `burning of wings` while telling the truth.

Perhaps Pakistanhas changedforever; sadly it`s all a journey towards nowhere.
