SIALKOT: Five workers suffered burns when a fire erupted in a surgical forging factory near Mandraanwala, Daska tehsil, on Thursday.

Workers were performing various tasks when a fire erupted owing to a spark in a surgical instruments forging machine. The flames spread due to oil containers in the unit inflicting injuries on Usman, Imran, Iqbal, Ilyas and Muhammad Bashir. They were shifted to Lahore`s Mayo Hospital from the Civil Hospital of Daska and doctors said they were suffering from 90pc burns.

Fire-fighters controlled the blaze at the factory owned by Yousaf Mughal.
