Transperson found dead

MUZAFFARGARH: The body of a transperson was found on a plot near the Old Chungi area of Muzaffargarh on Wednesday. The police said the body had torture marks.

Locals alerted the police after seeing the abandoned body. The City police shifted the body to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem.

Shani Shah, the representative of the transperson community, said to this correspondent that the deceased apparently did not belong to this locality, so the identity has yet to be ascertained.

Shah said several dozen transpeople were living with their families in the district and many had migrated to other districtsbut the deceased did not belong to any group. The police registered a case.

E-CHALLAN: Layyah District Police Officer Nida Chattah has started e-challan payment for traffic violations in Layyah.

Under the new system, the citizens will be able to avail many facilities, such as receiving the ticket detail through SMS and payment of the fine through online banking system.

She said the system would eliminate bribery for a violation of the law, as the driver will receive a message confirming the challan and fine payment.

Through this measure, stolen vehicles and criminal elements will also be traced. In addition, computerized retrieval of drivers` fines and challans date will be saved.
