SAHIWAL: Around 626 employees of the the Multan Electric Power Company Limited (Mepco) have been denied `Eid bonus` this year since they are facing inquiries over different charges leveled either by the department or public.

An April 26 notice by Syed Waqar Abbas, Deputy Director (Inquiries), Chief Executive Office, Mepco, says as disciplinary action is pending against 626 employees since July 01, 2021, they are not entitled to get bonus. Affectedemployees term the move unjust.

LSD: Three positive cases of lumpy skin disease (LSD) have been spotted in two different villages of Sahiwal district.

According to Dr Lubna Jabbar, Livestock`s Additional Director, told Dawn the reported LSD cases had come from Sindh since livestock traders had bought animals from there as well.

Dr Lubna said their teams had vaccinated more than 330 animals in surrounding villages as a preventive measure. She said affected animals had been separated from other herds.
