Six booked for bid to grab expat’s plot

GUJRANWALA: Cantonment police on Sunday registered a caseagainst six suspects for allegedly attempting to grabthe plot of an overseas Pakistani and resorting to firing on him and his father for offering resistance at Mandiala Warraich village.

According to the complainant, Hamza Sohail, who resides in Malaysia and is currently visiting Pakistan, he and his father, Anjum Sohail, were supervising construction work at their 15-marla plot at Mandiala Warraich when suspects Falak Sher, Owais, and Arbab, along with their three unidentified accomplices, arrived there.

He said that the armed suspects allegedly hurled abuses and attacked them with sticks when they offered resistance to their bid to occupy the plot.

He alleged that Arbab shot at him and his father with the intent to kill, but missed his target and they escaped unharmed.

He said the attackers fled the scene as locals rushed to help them (Hamza and his father) after hearing the commotion.

On Hamza’s complaint, the cantonment police registered a case against the suspects and started an investigation.—Correspondent
