LAHORE: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said the government was committed to providing security to foreign investors.

In a meeting with a delegation of foreign investors on Sunday, Mr Naqvi said Pakistan was a safe country for all kinds of investments, and protecting investors is the government`s top priority.

He assured foreign investors that their investments will be `secured at all costs`.

According to a spokesperson for the interior ministry, Mr Naqvi noted the issues raised by the investors and assured them offull cooperation.

He said the government has taken all necessary measures to provide security to investors.

The minister took notice of attacks by miscreants and said legal action was being taken against the culprits.

He highlighted that a strategy has been devised to prevent such incidentsin thefuture.

North Waziristan operation Separately, the minister hailed securityforcesfor the successful operation in North Waziristan in which 54 terrorists were killed.

While addressing a press conference on Sunday, Mr Naqvi said forces acted on credible intelligence reports about a group of terrorists attempting to infiltrate Pakistan from Afghanistan.

The forces launched a `coordinated attack`, resulting in the neutralisation of all54 terrorists the largest number of terrorists killed in a single operation.

The intelligence agencies had intercepted communications, confirming that the terrorists` `foreign handlers` were pushingthem to enter Pakistan urgently and carry out attacks.

He added forces were already put onalertattheborder.

Mr Naqvi said the cross-border movement of terrorists was a part of a larger conspiracy aimed at destabilising Pakistan.

He said weapons and ammunition seized from the killed terrorists were `undeniable evidence of the externalsupport and funding`.

Displaying images of the seized explosives and ammunition, Mr Naqvi said the terrorists were `fully prepared for battle`.

`The quantity of explosives recovered indicates they were planning large-scale attacks.

Mr Naqvi recalled that during the recent National Security Council meeting, concerns were raised over attempts to derail Pakistan`s security achievements, particularly on the western front the border with Afghanistan.

`Attempts are being made to distract us so these groups can regroup and regain strength. But Alhamdulillah, their positionshave been consistently weakened over the past few weeks,` he said while referring to recent operations conducted by security forces against terrorists.

He further stated that Pakistan continuously shared evidence with the international community regarding India`s role in efforts to destabilise the country.

`We have shared many examples with the world, and today`s [successful operation] sends a powerful message globally.

He paid tribute to intelligence agencies and security forces and lauded their professionalism and dedication.

On the issue of tensions with India, the minister reiterated Pakistan`s call for impartial investigations into the Pahalgam attack.

He also urged the world to `recognise the risks of continued provocations between two nuclear-armed nations`.

`Such reckless behaviour can have dangerous consequences.

Caution must prevail,` he warned.
