By Our Correspondent 2015-05-28
SHIKARPUR: Addressing a press conference held at Jatoi House here on Wednesday, former MNA Dr Muhammad Ibrahim Jatoi has said the polling staff deputed at NA-202 (Shikarpur-1) remained negligent and inefñcient during the general elections held on May 11, 2013.

However, he accepted the election results in which he was declared defeated despite the re-election conducted at 21 polling stations of NA-202 (Shikarpur-1) and re-checking of the rejected votes at seven polling stations held on May 26, 2015 in the presence of the district returning officer (DRO) and sessions judge of Shikarpur and Election Commission representatives.

But in spite of that he expressed his dissatisfaction over dif ferent results declared by the presiding officers (PO) concerned the results provided to the candidate were not matching with the results lying with the returning of ficers.

Dr Jatoi said he believed in legal process, therefore, he would approach the Election Commission of Pakistan to award punishment to the negligent and inefficient polling staffers who committed mistakes in counting and declaring varied results, which created a dispute between the candidates and the commission.

Dr Jatoi told reporters that his petition remained under trial in the Supreme Court of Pakistan in this regard, expressing the hope for a better outcome of the trial.
