Thieves, burglars strike in city

ISLAMABAD: Thieves and burglars struck at six different places in the capital and made off with cash and valuables, police said here on Wednesday.

In the first incident, some burglars broke into the house of Mohammad Talha Nawaz located in G-9/2 and looted cash and valuables worth Rs400,000 and escaped.

In the second incident, thieves struck at the house of Syed Mustafa Shah located at Jhangi Syedan and looted cash, gold and valuables worth Rs375,000 and escaped.

Similarly, another gang of thieves struck at the house of Asim Intizar in Banigala and made off with cash and gold worth Rs80,000.

In another incident, some burglars broke into the house of Mohammad Hayat at Mira Haia in Golra and looted cash and valuables worth Rs110,000.

Meanwhile, a group of six people armed with weapons intersected a man, Mohammad Bashir, at Athal Chowk. They took him to a house and snatched cash and valuables worth Rs70,000 from him.

Some thieves also stole valuables, including a laptop worth Rs45,000, from a car of Ejaz Hussain parked at Lakeview Park.

Meanwhile, the capital police arrested 13 outlaws from different areas of the city and also recovered vehicles, liquor, narcotics and valuables from them.

Margalla police arrested a man after recovering a 9MM pistol and ammunition from him, while Industrial Area police caught a bootlegger and seized 50 bottles of wine fromhim.

The police also arrested three persons who minted money from people coming to Excise and Taxation Office for registration of their vehicles.

Nilor police arrested a man after recovering a 30-bore pistol from him, while Koral police seized a 32-bore pistol from another man.

Similarly, Khanna police arrested a drug peddler and seized hashish weighing 1.1kg from while CIA police recovered a stolen car from a man and arrested him.
