TOBA TEK SINGH: A farmer died when the wall of his house fell on him during heavy windstorm followed by rain on Wednesday night at Kamalia.
Windstorm also uprooted hundreds of trees and several electricity poles at different places due to which electricity supply remained suspended in some rural areas for more than 12 hours.
The police said deceased farmer Naseer Ahmad (40) was injured critically when the mud wall fell on him. He was rushed to the Kamalia Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds on Thursday. He belonged to Chak Mohalwala.
OKARA: A couple and a minor boy died in a roof collapse incident in heavy thunderstorm on Wednesday night in village 34/GD, some 15 kilometres from Okara.
The family was asleep in the house on Wednesday night when due to windstorm, the wall of the house collapsed on them.
Villagers rescued them from the debris but Dalmir, his wife Bhaggan Bibi and relative Adnan (eight) later died.
Minor girl Aliya was injured and shifted to the Okara District Headquaners Hospital.
In another incident in village 33/2RA on Okara-Faisalabad Road, a family of five people was buried under roof debris.
Villagers rescued Younis, his wife Sheeman Bibi and three children minors who were later shifted to the hospital by Rescue 1122.
