Case against policeman for tampering with record

TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad`s Razaabad police registered on Monday a case against SubInspector (SI) Khalid Shahzad, of the same police station, for tampering with the record of investigation files and committing fraud in the investigation of dif ferent cases.

Complainant ASI Mukhtar Hussain Azad said in the FIR that in his inquiry report Lyallpur division superintendent of police found the SI guilty of fraud in an attempt to murder case investigation.

It added the SI was handed over the bloodstained clothes of the injured complainant but he pasted a fake parcel receipt in the file and during the inquiry, it was proved that he with the connivance of the suspect did not send the parcel to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency and also declared the suspect innocent.The FIR contained three more similar charges against the SI.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died and as many others were injured critically near Jhang Road Model Bazaar in Faisalabad when a trailer hit two motorcycles.

Rescue 1122 reported that after hitting by trailer both motorcycles, the trailer also hit the road divider.

The deceased were identified as Imran Sharif, 30, and Sana Gul, 19.

The injured are Kiran Umair, 32, and her daughter,Zainab,10.

Meanwhile, a woman died and her husband was injured when a bus hit their motorcycle on Sargodha Road in Faisalabad.

Misbah Akram, 45, succumbed to her injuries while her husband Muhammad Akram, 50, was admitted to the Allied Hospital.

Also at Chak Jhumra near Fesco grid station, motorcyclist Khurram Dilawar, 20, died whenhe crashed into a trailer parked on the roadside.

US SCHOLARSHIPS: Nine University of Agriculture of Faisalabad (UAF) undergraduate students have been selected for the North American Alumni Association Scholarships programme.

VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan along with association representative Prof Dr Muhammad Younis disbursed cheques among the students on Monday.

The VC said the university gives admission under an urban-rural quota to equip the rural population with the modern agricultural sector.

He said that the university was providing scholarships to thousands of students to continue their journey of education and progress.

He urged agri scientists to come up with more valuable research works keeping the agricultural issues and farming community problems in view.
