GUJRAT: A youth allegedly desecrated the grave of a girl few hours after her burial on Saturday at Khawaspur village in Saddar Lalamusa police precincts.

Police have taken suspected youth Zaheer belonging to the same village into custody for investigation as the case has been lodged under section 297 C of the PPC on the report of girPs father Muhammad Anwar. Police said Zaheer confessed to the crime.Reports said 16-year-old Farah Mubeen who had just passed her matriculation exams died of a heart attack as per her family and she was laid to rest at the village graveyard on Saturday.

The family came to know on Sunday morning about the digging of girl`s grave.

They rushed there and saw a damaged portion of the grave; however the body was lying in the grave but shroud had been removed from her face.

Police have also started probing the cause of death of the girl.
