SIALKOT: The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) claimed on Thursday to have rescued a toddler from his father who tortured him at his home at Naikapura.

Officials of the Bureau said they received a call that Tajammal, a trader, was torturing his three-year-old son Ali Hamza, and they made a dash for the place and rescued the child.

They said the man was found mentally stable but he did not tell why he was beating the child.

The officials produced the child before a court for getting his legal custody besides seeking the medico-legal certificate for the registration of a case.
