Drug smugglers warned of action

GHALANAl: A jirga of Khwezai and Biazai tribal elders held at the office of assistant political agent Gul Said Khan here at Bahi Daag on Thursday warned drug dealers to end their business of shesha (ice drug) in the area or face strict action.

The jirga was attended by tehsildar Shah Wazir, Malik Zar Wali, Malik Mehrab Din and Malik Gul Mohammad. On this occasion, the APA showed concern over sale of ice drug, also called crystal meth, in various bazaars of the border areas of Khwezai and Biazai tehsils, including Atta Bazaar.

He asked the elders that besides the fulfillment of collective territorial responsibility they must impose ban on sale of all types of drugs in the border areas.

He said that ice drug was also being sold in various villages of the area, showing that many of the tribesmen were involved in this business.

The APA said that it was the tribesmen`s responsibility to take action in various villages to arrest the smugglers. He said that the smugglers would be sent to jail. He said that checking on various roads had been tightened to curb drug smuggling.
