KASUR: Ganda Singh police entered 27th case on Thursday against the suspects in child abuse scam.

One of the suspects, Tanzeelul Rehman, was handed over to police after he was caught in Hussain Khanwala by locals who also gave him a sound thrashing.

Later,avictimsubmitted an application stating Rehman and four others, including Khadim Ali, arrived at Hussain Khanwala village, manhandled him and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not withdraw the case.

Police arrested Rehmanafter lodging an FIR.

Rehman is also wanted in three cases of child abuse and was on bail till Aug 31.

Khadim Ali is the complainant in the murder case of his relative Muhammad Shafi, who was allegedly killed in the remits of Nishtar Colony police station. Later, the police booked him in the child abuse scam on the complaint of a victim.

Meanwhile, the joint investigation team (JIT), which has got extension till Sept 10, continued probing into the matter, at the local rest house,recordingstatements of complainants and witnesses.-Correspondent
