U-turns being created to ease trailic flow in Swabi

SWABI: The district administration has decided to remove unnecessary speed breakers and create U-turns across the district to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
The decision was taken in a meeting attended by the district police officer, deputy commissioner and assistant commissioners of four tehsils here the other day.
Sources said that the meeting noted that people had been building speed breakers without getting permission from the district administration. They said that the action was being taken on complaints coming from different circles about needless speed breakers.
They said that where necessary the speed breakers would only be constructed by the district administration. In addition, places have been marked for making appropriate U-turns in the district and tehsil headquarters.
SCOUTS CAMP: Speakers at the inaugural session of the one week scouts camp in government high school, Topi, said on Thursday that the scouts could play a useful role in building character of the youth.
Students from 66 middle and high schools are participating in the camp. District education officer Mohammad Nisar and district president of All Teachers Association Abdul Latif were also present on the occasion.
The participant said that scouting could boost the physical, mental and spiritual development of the youth while making them useful citizens of the country. `We provide complete support to the scout masters and students to learn about their role in the society,` said Mr Nisar.
Meanwhile, About 30 teams from across the district are participating in the cricket tournament, which started in Topi tehsil here on Thursday.
Sajjad Khan, Topi Cricket Association president, said that a star of Pakistan cricket team was expected to be the chief guest in the final of the month-long tournament. He said that all necessary arrangements for holding the tournament had been completed.
